Sheep freezes my macbook pro

My sheep was a happy healthy member of the flock but now all of a sudden, when I touch the touchpad to start working, it freezes. and I have to force shutdown. Anyone have ant answers for this? I don't want to loose my favorite screensaver.

Can you please try if it happens in standalone mode when you switch to full screen (Cmd-F), please?

Is it possible to get the log file from Screen Saver before it crashes?

Does the standalone

Does the standalone application (/Applications/Electric Sheep.app) freezes when quitting as well? If yes, can you force quit and if you got the crash report, can you send it to us?

Also can you try to rename the /Users//Library/ElectricSheep folder to something else and retry the screen saver? It would reset all settings and redownload the sheep, but does it help? If yes, can you please send us the "ls -al /Users//Library/ElectricSheep/content/mpeg" (original one) command result?

Sorry, couldn't work out how to get a crash report. The screen just froze. Non mouse.... Will try to rename.. thanks heaps.

Freeze

Yes after 3 days it freezes every time. have had to abandon the sheep for now. Any suggestions??

Still, does it happen in standalone application? (/Applications/Electric Sheep.app). Does it freeze as well? It doesn't take over your screen so you don't need to restart the machine when trying.

Also can you set logging to ON and send me your log what happened just before freezing? You can send it to dasvo [at] planeta [dot] cz.

This is far fetched but can you try to choose another screen saver and choose back Electric Sheep?

Also Freezing my MacPro

Me too freezing. Recent incidents, did not crash first several days. Now crashes each use. No crash report as force quit is necessary Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.16 GHz, 1 processor, 2 cores, 4 mb ram, ATY RadeonX1600 Have not yet tried renaming or other solution. This seems wider then a user or two? Thanks

revert back to 2.7b18

I am on snow leo and i had to go back to 2.7b18 to get it to stop freezing. It would freeze my whole system and i would have to hold the power button in to get it to unfreeze. I love electric sheep so as long as i can go back to an older version im ok with that.

Can you please tell us what is your computer, system, graphic card?

If you have a chance, would you try again the b28 and send us the log file created in /Users//Library/Application Support/ElectricSheep/Logs, so we can try to figure out the reason behind the freezing?

Can you please also confirm that in /Users//Library/Application Support/ElectricSheep/content/mpeg folder, there is nothing else than *.avi files? If not, can you please try to remove all other files and try the screen saver again? Or try to rename the /Users//Library/Application Support/ElectricSheep/ folder and try to rerun the screen saver, let it download some sheep and see if it is still freezes?

Can you start the logging and send me your log to dasvo [at] planeta [dot] cz, after you force quit? Also does it freeze the same way when using the standalone application /Applications/Electric Sheep.app? If not, can you please try to remove the electric sheep screen saver and reinstall? I succeeded to reproduce it once, but unfortunately after building newer version the problem disappeared. The changes I did in the new version are unrelated to any crash, I would say, but still b28 should come soon.

you don't know how many times i tried to install 2.7b28 and failed. But i went back to try and get you a log but it worked! so what ever you did it worked for me thanks.

my macbook pro is crashing

Runnning late model macbook pro with exact same issue. Snow leopard installed with all the lates updates. What do you suggest?
