The Future of the Electric Sheep Model and the Recreation of the Psychedelic Experience in VR.

Electric Sheep has been evolving with its fractal dreams of our binary collective unconcious at a rapid and exciting rate. Although it is unknown, where this evolution may lead, maybe even to some sort of fractal Hal or to any limitless number of other scenarios. It seems to be pretty evident that one of the directions it is evolving into is the replication of the psychedelic experience in VR. Whether Electric Sheep should go in that direction or whether another model based on the same idea goes in that direction, I see this being achieved in a reasonable 10-15 years, maybe sooner, or maybe a bit later, but I definitely see this happening sometime in the not so distant future.
In order for the replication of the psychedelic experience to take place in VR, new dimensions would have to be added and merged with the electric sheep fractal model. Here's an art project which is different, but similar to electric sheep. The project is called 'automatic speleology.' An article and video of the project can be viewed here: http://blog.syracuse.com/entertainment/2010/03/artist_jesse_stiles_uses_... Both electric sheep and automatic speleology are based on algorithms and both portray aspects of the psychedelic experience (This has come pretty close to nailing something missing from the current models). If these two could be combined and based both on the outside world and on the person's thoughts and memories, (not far off as brain scanning devices are having better and better breakthroughs in technology), it could effectively replicate psychedelic meditation in VR.
This is just one example of two similar models that have successfully replicated important portions of the psychedelic experience, and which could be merged with relative ease. In fact though there is no real limit on the different types of input that could be merged with the electric sheep base to create new and varied forms of 'electronic synaesthesia.' The continnuous merging of novel forms of input is the logical and neccessary process for the continued evolution of Psychedelic VR.
