Using Flam3

Ok so Ive been making sheep for a while and have always wanted to use flam3 to combine/mutate my sheeps. Ive read the wiki and the readme of flam3 multiple times yet have no idea what the heck any of it means. Im using windows vista and everytime I open the flam3 genome exe it sits there for a sec and then i see a bunch of text scroll really fast and then it closes. I know im just an idiot and im missing something really obvious....but i cant figure it out. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could give me some baby steps here and help me out. Or if youre really bored you could make a tutorial video for dummies like me, that would be amazing. Spot, i know youre a super busy dude so im hoping someone else will step to the plate and walk me through this...if you need my email address or something to make communication easier just lemme know. I really hope to learn this so I can make even gnarlier sheep for you all. Thanks for your time and help....sorry for the inconvenience

you need to create a terminal

you need to create a terminal and type commands, not double click on it. click on "start" the menu in the lower left corner of the screen, then "run..." and type "cmd" and hit return. you should familiarize yourself with the basics of the command prompt, there are many tutorials and books, eg: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial76.html

More specific information for FLAM3 is at http://electricsheep.wikispaces.com/Using+the+Command-Line+Utilities and then the pages on genetic engineering and flam3-genome.

But really you shouldn't have to mess with the command line, there should be user-friendly tools for this. I recommend asking the Fr0st developers if they have any plans in that direction. If they knew it would be appreciated they would probably be more likely to work on it. Oxidizer supports this but it's for Mac only, but maybe you can get access to one.

If you need further help, feel free to ask, and include what you did and what happened as well as what you expected or wanted.
