Yikes, 98 flames in queue

Sp0t, I hope the progress on the pay server is moving along well because I really want to give you my money for the enhanced ES access. And I want to be able to post some flames without waiting 3 months to see them turn into sheep. ;) -Brian

That said,

That said, I have a quad core phenom II that runs ES in a window 24/7. I'd like to see it rendering more frames. Is there any way to see how long it took my computer to render a frame? I've noticed there is a timed interval in between rendering frames, is there a way to decrease this?

Currently, only so many sheep

Currently, only so many sheep are produced each day. Therefore, only frames for those animations are requested by the server for the clients to render. If there's no work to be done, you won't see any rendering happening.

right, we are limited by

right, we are limited by bandwidth, not by client cpu. the limited edition HD pieces should take up a lot of the slack, but then we hit inbound limits.

i do not believe there is a delay between render jobs, but there is a 10 minute delay before rendering starts. it's there for a good reason though which is to prevent false-starts, ie clients that start rendering but are then interrupted. it's not a good idea to start rendering until you are pretty sure you are going to finish.

Yes there is a delay

I'm looking at it right now "Rendering restarting in 3 minutes"

thanks, we'll fix it.

thanks, we'll fix it.

Me too!

I also am hoping that subscription feed is coming along... when I first came here, it was maybe 10 sheep. Then it grew to thirty or so. I left, came back, and now we're over 100. X-( On a CPU note though, I would like to be able to see how close to finishing a render is, maybe in the F3 info.

What we are working on now

What we are working on now and the past couple months is *funding*. Specifically, some HD commissions. We did most of the groundwork for the subscription system several months ago and have been continuing to polish the clients, but it's too risky to change the server in the middle of a job. And Francesco is busy now anyway, and he is key to finishing this. But anyway, getting this done and out is a high priority for us.
