Is there a way to play all my older .mpg style sheep in the newer versions of Electric Sheep?

Is it a planned future feature to support both file types? Or do I have to convert all of my .mpg files to .avi? Any good open source batch video converting software suggestions?

Or alternatively, what is the newest version of Electric Sheep that I can get from the old releases section that still plays .mpg files?
