Making The Sheep Flow

I was wondering if it is possible to have the sheep "flow" (as in have a smooth transition) from one sheep into another sheep that is similar, instead of jumping to a completely different s heep. If this is possible someone please let me know how to do it!

yes in the preferences turn

yes in the preferences turn on seamless playback.

Sorry Spot, but I see no

Sorry Spot, but I see no "preferences" or seamless playback option anywhere in the client. 2.7 (beta20)

The thing still isn't rendering frames after running for a couple hours with nothing else running on the computer.

there is

in Advanced, put your mouse over the 'Never skip' option and you'll see it says Seamless playback ^^

you can bring up the settings

you can bring up the settings in 3 ways:

1) double clicking on the desktop icon.

2) in the display properties / screensaver tab, click settings

3) from the start menu, all programs, electric sheep screensaver, config

I realize that, Spot, but

I realize that, Spot, but there is no "seamless playback" option in either of the tabs in the client settings.  I think that vocabulary might be at issue here.

What you at first called "preferences" is actually the settings screen, but that still doesn't locate "seamless playback".

sorry, it's called "never

sorry, on windows it's called "never skip", if  you hover over it the tooltip says "seamless playback".

s:

it says, Ignoring Seampless Playback. No Closed Loop found.

what i have to do?

:D

get more sheep, either by

get more sheep, either by letting it run and download, or by getting the sheep packs (see the post near the top of the forum).

thank you! Now I think I have

thank you! Now I think I have a different problem... None of the sheep I downloaded are playing. I'll try and wait to download more and see what happens.

I counsel patience

Really the only solution for non-jumpy playback is to build up a lot of sheep --- several gig worth at minimum.  Grab some of the sheep packs, or wait a while. Make sure you've got an adequate cache size setting.

I'm not sure the seamless-playback option is really worth much.  Even when you've got a lot of sheep, it mostly functions to ensure you'll never see portions of the flock you do have.

I agree. I've got over 8 gigs

I agree. I've got over 8 gigs of sheep and I still see jumps. Doesn't bother me that much though, it mostly plays seemlessly.

I've got 5.37GB of sheep and

I've got 5.37GB of sheep and the screen saver tells me that all sheep have been downloaded! Where are you getting these other sheep from?

I also played around with "never skip'' and while it IS cool I did notice that it only plays a small fraction of all the sheep available in the content folder.

I think that new sheep are

I think that new sheep are only available for a limited time and then get taken off the server to make room for more. I suppose I've just been colecting them longer.

right.

right.

seamless playback works by

seamless playback works by not playing the sheep that lead to dead ends, it needs a bunch of connected sheep to work.  the automatic downloading should work for that.
