How to get started?

Alright, I got told about electric sheep about half an hour ago and came here, downloaded the Windows client and installed it.

Obviously, it's not that easy. When I start it, I only get a black screen telling me to register here.

 

Please tell me: What exactly do I need to get electric sheep working as my screensaver? The help site is useless.

get the latest prerelease

get the latest prerelease (see the post in this forum with the title that starts with "prereleases"), install that, and then after it's running press F2 and let it run for about 20 minutes and then let me know what it says.
