Sheep won't download at all
I just recently downloaded the most current stable version for windows. I have since left it to run overnight as suggested, The screen indicates that it is downloading, but so far nothing has downloaded to the cache file. I've tried using just http to download and the Bit Torrent nothing seems to be working.
Any suggestion as to how to fix this would be appreciated.
I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 32bit.

Still Nothing
I downloaded the 1.9 pack and pasted it into the cache file, but I still get the downloading screen whenever the saver starts up. I'm having the problem with it naming them as video clips, but I have no idea how to change the file extensions in Vista.
further help will be greatly appreciated
you have to unzip it and put
you have to unzip it and put the contents into the mpeg subdirectory.
Call me dense(and thats fine at this point)
The install puts a file folder labeled [electricsheep-cache] in my System32 file. its contents are the postive vote, the negative vote PNGs and the license, and instruction txt files.
but No folder to mpegs in am I missing something or do I need to download a older version.
sorry my fault actually, i
sorry my fault actually, i didn't notice you were using vista, which works differently.
try creating the mpeg subdirectory and putting the mpg files in there. if this works, i'll update the instructions page.
Fixed I think...
I created a new folder simply labeled mpeg. Unzipped and Extracted a sheep pack to that folder and the screensaver started up fine.
don't know if it will d/l new sheep though.
Possible Explanation
I have content filter program for the internet on my computer, it is currently set to block all Peer to Peer and File Transfer protocols. If this what inhibiting the program. I can fix the problem.
To change extensions in
To change extensions in Vista, you have to turn off the "hide extensions" feature in folder options.
And yes, if you want ES to be able to download, you will have to allow it in your firewall settings. And especially if you plan to use Bit Torrent to download the sheep.
