Ok so I downloaded ES and a few sheep packs, which I then unpacked to the proper .mpeg directory in windows. When i go to run, I get the following black and white screen:
"Low Disk space. Downloading disabled."
<ES logo>
"Register on electricsheep.org to download more and faster"
I have the limit in the program set to 50000MB of disk space for sheep, and the .mpeg directory hold a mere 3.7GB of downloaded sheep.
I just installed the latest
I just installed the latest beta on Win7 x64 and it worked flawlessly out of the box. No settings had to be changed, no compatibility modes need to be checked. The sheep are saved to C:\ProgramData\ElectricSheep\content .
So if someone is having trouble, I'd suggest cleaning out everything and start with the latest beta. I did not bother with any sheep packs since I'm not sure if there are any for the latest incarnation of the server. But in under 2 days, it has already downloaded 700mb.
ES and Windows 7
I can't be sure as I'm at work and the corprate firewall does not allow me to use the program to download, but I have come up with errors like this in the past. What is happining is that you are probably fighting Windows protecting the Program files folder, go to the advanced tab in settings, and at the bottom, move your content to the user folder, like 'C:\Users\All Users\ElectricSheep\content'. I bet that will fix it....

but the settings for content pointed to "C:/Program Files/Electricsheep Screensaver/content"
Which of course wasn't working..So I created the content folder and changed the setings to point to that folder, but no I get this

uninstall then install the
uninstall then install the latest prerelease version 2.7b20e. then run it and press F2 and let me know what it says.
what are the filenames of
what are the filenames of some of the sheep in your mpeg directory? what directory did you install into? how much free space is on that drive?
sheep error
I have windows 7 and when i changed the cache directory from the default one to a "sheep" folder i created in the electric sheep folder in program files it came up with the error "low disk space. downlloading disabled" There is plenty of space on the drive, it is C:/program files/electricsheep screensaver/sheep. There are also no sheep in it yet.
