Windows Server

Has anyone been able to setup a windows server? I would like to have my own sheep server on my home network and let my computers render higher resolution frames.

If you're just looking to render higher quality frames, you can just use the flam3 pack to do so.

Otherwise, setting up the server is a pain. I tried a few months pack, but to no avail. Spot told me that windows is really hard to set up and to just go with linux. That wasn't an option for me at the time, so i abandoned the attempt. Recently though i've discovered cygwin and am curious whether you would be able to use the cygwin package to set up the server. I'm not very savvy about linux, so i'm not sure. Hopefully someone with more experience can shed some light on this.

I see. Setting up a server has proven to be quite difficult. I have a linux box now, but can't seem to get it working completely. I have however used my computer and let it render overnight to get a few high-res sheep animations. You can see a thread I started with my server problems here.
