Kubuntu 9.04 and 9.10 .desktop file (for KDE 4.2 / 4.3)

I've had a bit of trouble getting electric sheep 2.7 working on Kubuntu 9.04 and 9.10 (alpha) using the precompiled ppa packages.

I got it working in the end using the following modified .desktop file which should be placed at /usr/share/kde4/services/ScreenSavers/electricsheep.desktop

Would be great if this could be incorporated into the next build of the packages.  Cheers.

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Exec=electricsheep
Icon=kscreensaver
Type=Service
X-KDE-ServiceTypes=ScreenSaver
Actions=InWindow;Root;Setup;
X-KDE-Category=Fractals
Name=ElectricSheep

[Desktop Action Setup]
Exec=electricsheep-preferences
Name=Setup...

[Desktop Action InWindow]
Exec=electricsheep -window-id %w
Name=Display in specified window
NoDisplay=true

[Desktop Action Root]
Exec=electricsheep -window-id %w
Name=Display in root window
NoDisplay=true

Still can't access on KDE Screensaver settings

I copied your electricsheep.desktop to /usr/share/kde4/services/ScreenSavers/electricsheep.desktop as directed but I don't show an X-KDE-Category of Fractals in the Display > Screensaver dialog. Do you know why I'm not able to access the Sheep screensaver?

Found a solution of the issue

Yesterday I was looking for a solution to not having the Really Slick Screensavers collection available on my fresh Kubuntu 10.04 install since I wasn't able to get the Sheep working as my screensaver and found an alternate location for putting the screensaver .desktop files: /usr/share/kde4/services/ScreenSavers. I copied my electricsheep.desktop file to /usr/share/kde4/services/ScreenSavers/electricsheep.desktop and I am finally able to use Electric Sheep as my screensaver. In case anyone else is looking for a way to get the Really Slick Screensavers working as well as Electric Sheep on KDE 4.5, you can check out http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/KDE4+Entries+for+RSS+%26+XScreenSav... for the files I discovered. It's uploaded to KDE-Apps.org by an openSUSE user but it works beautifully on my Kubuntu install as well.

How to vote for a sheep?
