I've been a user of ES for about 3 years and love the new version. I have always wanted to participate by creating my own sheep. I am a mac user and have downloaded and tried to play with oxidizer. I have also read many tutorials on how to use oxidizer but haven't found anything that leads me on a step by step process from creating and editing the fractals to animating it and finally posting it to the server.
Does anyone know of such a tutorial, or anything/anyone that might help?
Thanks

Flock animations
I can see the sheep in the "Flock" but I can't seem to get anything to animate. What do I need to do to get them to animate?
No animation
Sadly, you can't produce sheep-style animations in apophysis. What happens is this: you upload the still image, and the sheep server takes a second fractal (if it's an edge) or the same fractal (if it's a loop) and slowly morphs between the two. Apophysis can't do this exactly (that is, between two seperate fractals) but you can use scripts to make some interesting animations; I know there are some scripts out there somewhere (I could probably find it for you of you really want it) that can interpolate between a series of frames, each maybe 1 second apart, that can produce nice results. Unfortunately, you can't make high quality renders, nor save it, as far as I'm aware. Maybe in future versions of apophysis, but not right now. :-(
new version of oxidizer
I keep reading about oxidizer 0.5.9.2 and 0.6.0 but I can only find 0.5.5 for downloading does anyone know where i can get the most recent version

Oxidizer...
To use Oxidizer to create sheep you simply create a nice genome, save it to disk and upload it to the se rver using the instructions you'll get when joining the genetic design email list. Oxidizer saves all its files in the flam3 xml format that the server expects .
Dave
cool, thanks. in order to
cool, thanks.
in order to post the server you have to join the genetic design email list. there's a link about it on the front page of this web site. however due to the server changeover the subscription page is broken and the list is down right now, but if you send me email with a portfolio of your designs i can give you the info directly.
Got some designs

I would like to join the genetic design list. Can you help me with this?
resolution
what resolution should I set the frames to to work for 2.7
it doesn't matter what
it doesn't matter what resolution you design with, the server sets the resolution itself. it uses 800x592 if you want to start out the same way.
