Vista 64 Problem

So I've installed electric sheep and I got sheepwatcher, which does show the sheep... but the electric sheep isn't on my screen saver list.. no matter how many times I've installed it, its just not as a screensaver option.

How can I manually add it as a screensaver?

screensaver works but wreaks havoc

I have 64bit Vista as well and was able to get it working following the instructions here. One minor thing, though. When I open Screen Saver Settings with electric sheep selected, aero gets turned off with the message that ElectricSheep.scr "has performed an action that requires Windows to temporarily change the color scheme to Windows Vista Basic." Also, previewing it does screwy things with my desktop, causing portions of the screen to be black or portions of the wallpaper to be missing. But everything goes back to normal once I exit the screen saver, so I don't think this will be much of an issue normally.

I can verify Digitalman's solution does indeed work. Just look for the screensaver file and right-click install it.

I downloaded the lastest: MS Windows v2.6.7b6 binary installer

I was able to install it to C:\Windows\system32\ElectricSheep, but it didn't show up in the list of screen savers. So I un-installed.

I then installed to: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ElectricSheep. Again, no Electric Sheep in the list.

I then decided to look for ElectricSheep.scr in the SysWow64 folder. I found it and dbl-clicked it and it ran just fine. Sweet!

Still, it didn't show up in the list. So then I right-clicked the scr file and saw, Configure. It worked and I configured it. Again, Sweet!!!

Still, it didn't show up in the list. So then I right-clicked the scr file again and saw, Install. I thought, what the heck, so I clicked Install and BAM!, it now shows up in the list of screen savers. Mega-Sweet!

No .scr

Hmm, when I run the v2.7.7b6 installer, no matter which folder I point it to or if I run it as Admin, no .scr is made.. Can someone upload theirs?

It's now in the screensaver list...

Mine auto installs to sys32

Vista 64 Ultimate Install

Point the install files to the Sys32 folder. That worked for me.

yea i tried to install sheep last night like 5 times , on my vista 64 ult. edition and got the same thing , it installs fine but doenst show up in the screen saves part ..

anyone find a fix it yet ?

es not showing up in vistax64

Just cut the .scr file out of the c:\windows\syswow folder and place it into c:\windows OR windows\system32
